Project description

A modelling tool consisting of (i) central model, (ii) related sector modules and (iii) model results for matching algorithms will be developed for the performance of the tasks. Methodology will be developed and the corresponding

  • reference scenario will be defined,
  • alternative development scenarios, each of the alternative development scenarios for reasoned differences in the parameters of Latvia's economic development (internal factors) and the objective function of the EU/global climate policy (external factors).

Modelling of references and at least 2 alternative scenarios, interpretation of results, analysis of the sensitivity of results will be carried out. Emission indicators will be identified in modeled scenarios with an integrated system assessment. Potential emission reduction measures will be identified according to the priority emissions sources and will be assessed at farm level on the basis of their efficiency potential. An analysis of the socio-economic impact of mitigation measures will be carried out and their assessment at the level of the recommendations on the basis of the priority for State aid. In order to carry out a cost-benefit analysis of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction measures in the forestry sector and to develop recommendations for emission reduction policy planning, the work will be carried out on the basis of the methods and technologies for increasing the forest capital value of THE MNKC project in the direction of the impacts of forest-based activities on GHG emissions and CO2 capture. research 'for results. Information on climate and future climate scenarios needed to complete the project will be provided 5. Results obtained during the execution of the project. Appropriate recommendations will be developed for the reduction of GHG emissions and the implementation of climate policy in the Latvian economy.
