Project description

The project aims to help strengthen the social bonds of communities weakened during Covid-19 through joint activities. Urban gardening/landscaping is seen as an ideal solution for communities in urban and/or isolated environments with limited access to land, e.g. abandoned industrial areas converted into residential lofts, old houses, orphanages still existing in some partner countries, urban kindergartens and schools, offices, etc. Community gardening activities are growing in popularity around the world, but in the Baltics they are currently only isolated initiatives due to a lack of guidelines and traditions to follow.

#GLOBUS is ready to provide communities with a guide (recommendations).

All recommendations will be based on:

  1. Danish urban gardening best practices,
  2. Best practices in Lithuanian and Icelandic municipalities,
  3. recommendations from gardening and landscaping experts from academic institutions in Latvia and Estonia.
