Project description

BioRural is a transformative project aimed at advancing the bioeconomy in rural Europe by fostering collaboration through a pan-European Rural Bioeconomy Network. This network unites diverse stakeholders to promote small-scale bio-based solutions, enhancing their adoption in remote areas and increasing the bioeconomy’s contribution to rural development.

The project evaluates the current state of the rural bioeconomy, identifying barriers and opportunities for innovation adoption. It promotes knowledge exchange and capacity building, empowering stakeholders to implement bio-based solutions effectively. Central to BioRural’s mission is the development of the BioRural Toolkit, an open online resource offering practical tools and insights.

BioRural also creates rural development blueprints, providing strategic guidance for scaling up resilient and circular bio-based solutions at regional and business levels. By adding value to rural areas and driving sustainable development, BioRural paves the way for a more inclusive and thriving bioeconomy across Europe.
