Project aim is to analyse contemporary demographic and migration processes, legal aspects and effective management of demography and migration processes, deepen the understanding of the main factors of emigration, immigration, return and stay of highly qualified specialists in Latvia, paying special attention to the career development of highly qualified mobile specialists and the role of mobility experience, as well as promoting the integration of rural newcomers, integration of newcomers through education and religious communities. Project goal is to provide evidence-based and scientifically reliable recommendations for both migration policy and additional demographic, social and regional policies in order to maximize the individual and regional outcomes of demographic change and migration, based on the study of future scenarios, analysis of the obtained data and current best practices, using interdisciplinary and very close cooperation.
