Project description

To facilitate the achievement of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) objectives, Latvia must develop a CAP Strategic Plan for the 2021–2027 programming period. This planning document is based on an in-depth analysis of the economic situation, particularly in agriculture, forestry, and rural development, while also considering the requirements set by European Union legislation. The Strategic Plan defines support interventions that not only contribute to the overall EU goals but also play a crucial role in fostering the development of Latvia’s agriculture and forestry sectors and addressing challenges in rural areas. A SWOT analysis is conducted to identify priorities and needs, forming the basis for selecting effective support measures. Furthermore, the plan establishes quantifiable target and interim indicators, allowing for continuous monitoring and assessment of CAP implementation progress. These measures ensure that the Strategic Plan effectively contributes to Latvia’s economic growth and sustainable rural development throughout the programming period.
