Project description

The overall objective of the project is to enhance knowledge and create scientifically based solutions for the sustainable and rational use of Latvia's natural resources, to increase their added value during evolving socio-economic, environmental, and climate conditions. 

Specific objectives: (1) To develop scientifically justified, European Green Deal targets oriented solutions for sustainable and rational use of Latvia's natural resources and for increase of their added value, therefore in long term perspective creating positive socio-economic impact. (2) To promote development of scientific human capital, expand the knowledge base and strengthen educational processes. 

Research activities are grouped in three work packages: WP1 Solutions for sustainable, qualitative and competitive food production in environmentally friendly agriculture. WP2 Novel knowledge and solutions for food and health. WP3 European Green Deal pathways and socioeconomic implications.
